12.8% increase in the Prices of Industrial Producers for the first three months of 2007

Data issued by the Department of Statistics indicate a 12.8% rise in the General Industrial Producers Price Index for the first three months of 2007 as compared with the same period of 2006.

This increase was a result of price rise of the manufacturing industries by 13.8% with a relative importance of 82.5% and the quarrying industries by 12.5% with a relative importance of 11.0%, meanwhile, the price of electricity decreased by 0.3% with a relative importance of 6.5%.

The data also indicate a rise in the General Industrial Producers Price Index by 13.2% for March 2007 as compared with March 2006.  This has resulted from a rise in the prices of manufacturing industries by 14.3%, and the quarrying industries by 12.1%, meanwhile the price of electricity decreased by 0.5%.

Moreover, the data show an increase in the General Industrial Producers Price Index for March 2007 by 0.5% compared with February 2007.  This has resulted from an increase in the prices of the manufacturing industries by 0.8%, meanwhile quarrying industries decreased by 1.3%.
