of Statistics: Slow growth of the Industrial Production to 4.2% during the first
ten months of 2006
The data issued by the Department of Statistics indicate a decline in the growth of the average Industrial Production Index during the first ten months of this year as compared to the same period of 2005. The average increase of the Industrial Production Index reached 4.2% declining from 5.4% for the first nine months of 2006, and 7.0% for the first eight months of 2006. The 4.2% has resulted from a rise in the manufacturing production quantities by 5.6%, with a relative importance of 82.5%, a decrease in the quantities of quarrying industries by 7.4%, with a relative importance of 11.0% and a decrease in the electricity production by 0.8%, with a relative importance of 6.5%.
The data indicate also a decrease in the General Industrial Production Index for the month of October 2006 as compared to October 2005 by 6.6%. This resulted from a decrease in the production quantities of manufacturing industries by 6.8% and quarrying by 10.0%.
As for the monthly Industrial Production Index during the month (October as compared to preceding September), it decreased by 5.3%, which resulted from a decrease in the manufacturing production by 5.3% and quarrying by 4.3%, while electricity production decreased by 7.4%.
