*1.2 % the average decrease in quantities of industrial production for July 2009 as compared with June 2009

           The statistical data issued by the Department of Statistics indicate a decrease in the General Industrial Production Index by 1.9 % for the first seven months of 2009 as compared with the same period of 2008. This retreat resulted from a decrease in quantities of the quarrying sector by 19.3 % with a relative importance of 11.0 %, electricity production by 8.7 % with a relative importance of 6.5 %, while the manufacturing industries production quantities went up by 0.2 % with a relative importance of 82.5 %. 

         The results also indicate a decrease in the General Industrial Production Index in July 2009 by 1.2 % compared with the previous month (June 2009). It was a result of a decrease in the quantities produced by the quarrying sector by 49.9 % while the production quantities of the manufacturing industries have increased by 1.7 % and Electricity by 1.4 %.

          Meanwhile, the General Industrial Production Index for July 2009 has decreased by 2.0 % as compared with the same month of 2008. This was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of the quarrying sector by 63.0 %, the production quantities of Electricity by 6.2% while the manufacturing industries increased by 3.9 %.
