The
Greater Amman Municipality and the Department of Statistics sign an agreement
for data and information exchange
The Greater Amman Municipality (G.A.M) and the Department of Statistics (DoS) have signed a cooperation agreement to develop and foster the mutual relations between them through exchange of data and information.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality, Engineer Amer Al-Bashir on behalf of the GAM and the Director General of Statistics Dr. Gazi Shbaikat. Engineer Al-Bashir stressed on the role of the DoS to increase and publicize the benefit through providing accurate and reliable data and information which facilitate the work of institutions in the public and private sectors.
He added that the GAM is looking forward for further cooperation with the DoS based on its deep belief in the importance of data issued by the DoS which is employed for carrying out different projects. He clarified that the GAM shall depend mainly on data and information provided by the DoS while carrying out the Comprehensive Planned Project of Amman city.
Dr. Shbaikat expressed that the DoS is willing to cooperate and communicate with the GAM to enhance the mutual benefits particularly that the GAM is one of the important national institutions which posses experienced and efficient staff and also information. The GAM shall provide the DoS with all statistical data pertaining to constructions, digital geography, occupation licenses, GAM workers (office and field employees) any other data within its capacity that could be required by the DoS.
The DoS is committed, according to the agreement, to provide the GAM with all its requirements of statistical data and the periodical publications.
The DoS is also committed to give priority to the GAM employees in participating in the scientific activities such as statistical programs, conferences and workshops.
According to the agreement, the GAM is committed to direct its employees to co-operate with the DoS employees and to facilitate their mission while completing the statistical questionnaires. Furthermore, the GAM has the right to authorize the DoS to perform any required statistical studies and surveys.
