5.7% the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at Constant Prices in the second quarter of 2007 as compared with the same period of 2006

 

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at Constant prices shows growth by 5.7% in the second quarter of 2007 as compared with the same period of 2006. Meanwhile, the growth rate at the current market prices reached 9.7%. This increase has resulted from the growth of most of the economic sectors. The finance and insurance sector was the highest among all sectors and registered 11.0% at constant prices and real state activities by 3.2%. This sector contributed by 7.4% to the (GDP) and 0.8 percentage points to the economic growth.

 

  1. The growth of the Transportation and Communication sector achevied a growth of 5.2% at constant prices with a contribution of 15.2% to the (GDP) and 0.8% percentage points to the economic growth.

 

  1. The growth in the Producers of Government Services Sector was 9.1% at constant prices. This sector contributed by 13.6% to the (GDP) and 1.2 percentage points to the economic growth.

 

 

  1. The growth of the Net Taxes on production was 10.5% at constant prices with a contribution of 13.2% to the (GDP) and 1.3 percentage points to the economic growth.

 

  1. The Quarrying and Mining Sector achieved a growth of 2.6% at constant prices and contributed by 1.6% to the (GDP).

 

 

  1. The community, Social and Personal Services Sector achieved a growth of 9.1% at constant prices and contributed by 3.9% to the (GDP) and 0.3 percentage points to the economic growth.  

 

  1. The growth of the Construction Sector was 6.9% at constant prices during the second quarter of 2007 (compared to 13.4% in 2006). This sector contributed by 5.4% to the (GDP) and 0.4 percentage points to the economic growth.

 

 

  1. The growth of the manufacturing Sector was 1.3% at constant prices (compared to 9.4% during the second quarter of 2006). This sector contributed by 16.4% to the (GDP) and 0.2 percentage points to the economic growth.

 

  1. The growth of the Retail and Wholesale Trade, Restaurants and Hotels Sector was 4.2% at constant prices (compared to 5.1% during the same quarter of 2006). This sector contributed by 9.7% to the (GDP) and 0.4 percentage points to the economic growth.

 

 

  1. The growth of Electricity and Water Sector was 3.2% (compared to 5.3% during the same quarter of 2006). This sector contributed by 2.1% to the (GDP) and 0.1 percentage points to the economic growth.
