The Statistics Law

The statistics Act No. 24 of 1950 had become outdated  since it did not coincide with the requirements of the modern statistical work.It had many gaps which  affected various aspects such as data dissemination, penalties and confidentiality of individual data.

Accordingly, there was a need for replacing the said law with another contemporary one. Therefore ,the following new law titled  “THE PROVISIONAL STATISTICS LAW NO. 8 OF 2003”.was endorsed and published in the official Gazette. It came into force as of 16.2.2003.
